Good evening , I am very honored to represent the Huế Medical School Alumni Association Abroad to welcome our distinguished guests of our annual reunion of 2010.

1. The former rector of the University of Hue , Professor  Lê Thanh Minh Châu and his wife Professor  Tăng Thị Thành Trai.

2. The  former dean of the medical school of Huế  :  Professor Lê Bá Vận

3. Professor and Mrs Phùng Hửu Chí

4. Professor and Mrs Võ Đăng Đài

5. Professor and Mrs Nguyễn Văn Tự

6. And it is also with great pleasure and honor for us to welcome our very special guests of the evening, Mrs Almuth Riggs Krainick  , daughter of our beloved and respected professor Dr and Mrs Krainick and her son and daughter- in-law Mark and Susan Riggs.

Mrs Almuth Riggs Krainick was a graduate of the university of Geneva Switzerland. She resides in Cleveland, Ohio where she was a teacher of French, German, Latin and English.
She is the youngest daughter of professor and Mrs Krainick. She was in Huế in 1965 and 1966 when she met her late  husband , Hugh Riggs . She loved Huế and often walked along Lê Lợi Street or kayaked with her mother on the  Perfume River. On several occasions  she accompanied Professor Krainick to his dispensary in Da Nghi. She also taught English at the VAA , German to some medical students and took care of the German library while in Huế.

Now I would like to ask Drs Lê Đình Thương and Dr Trần Thiết Tranh to talk about the great contribution of the German professors to our medical education since the inception of the medical school of Hue .At the same time Drs Đồng Sĩ Nam, Lê Văn Hùng and Bửu Phụng, please start the slide show.
